The Creatorship SafeHouse Publishing Spell - Next Step "The Road Opener"
Here goes everything,
There is something delightfully playful about "fake publishing" ourselves into becoming published authors. Beginning with last week's New Moon in Gemini, the co-writing collective, Creatorship of the Griots answered the invitation to submit a small collection of our writing and "publish" it through our delightfully imaginary publishing house, Creatorship SafeHouse Publishing Company.
We used the currents of the moon to plant some powerful seeds. Enough with the archives of great writing awaiting perfection to see the light of day. Let's just do it; submit the work already!
Inspired by Creatorship co-conspirator Q. Miles' reminder that it's better done and terrible than perfect and incomplete, we're giving ourselves permission to create, compile, and share our work without waiting for perfection.
Why not use that sexy imagination of ours and envision ourselves as published authors? Why not create our own publishing house, one that is beyond excited to get a hold of our genius and put it on display for the world at large? Why not!?
We let it be a playful ritual act, a creative seed planting, a declaration.
No waiting.
No endless editing.
No proving.
Simply choosing to cross the threshold and claim the identity:
"I am a published author."
The response? A capsule of works from some of the most talented storytellers, poets, and bards I have ever come across. All holding each other's craft and dreams as sacred.
So we set the stage. First it was the New Moon altar and the candle ritual, followed by a week of reading submissions and culminating in Monday's Road Opener ritual, to make way for our wildest dreams to come true.
I reworked a ritual I've used many-a-time from Limitless Living Fit's, Francesca Posgai, my favourite spicy Instagram sorceress. Let's walk through the process!
Road Opener for the Creatorship:
- Connect with the perfect Moonday, quarter moon energy. In my case, I told Mother Moon she is so sexy in her half-a-pizza pie vibes and blew her a kiss.
- Gather soil. I had brought some back from a trip to a forest garden, like the perfect weirdo that I am. Bonus points if you get some from a flower pot at a publishing house or bank.
- Add some lavender, powdered ginger and cinnamon.
- Place a key and all the ingredients in a fire safe bowl.
- Do any extra woowoo ish that your heart desires.
Light a white candle and say the following:
"By the elements of universal light, I call upon my guides.
Lend me your might and stand by me now.
As I move forward and open doors,
to my greatest abundance, most expansive creativity,
and my highest destiny.
May the paths before me be cleared.
May the right readers find my words.
May the stories entrusted to me travel further than my fears.
May my genius find its channel.
May what is written in my heart meet the page.
May what is ready be seen.
May what is needed be shared.
May it find its way into the hearts its meant to touch.
May what has been seeded in ritual become
a playful, powerful declaration that our words belong in the world.
I open the door.
I turn the key.
I release these works.
I gift the world.
And so it is.
And so I let it be.
Ashe!
Amen!
A sexy woman!"
- Let the candle burn itself out.
- Keep the key with you or on a sacred altar. If you don't have one, build one! Ideally a writing altar to inspire the spirit of the Word to become "One" with your pen.
And voilà, we have set the stage for the works of our genius minds to be carried on a current of grace, gently down the stream, readily, readily, readily...
Life is but a dream!
.
And then what...!?
We publish the work.
Starting tomorrow, with the one and only Aishatu Ado, author, artist, peace technologist and co-founding member of Aroko Cooperative:
https://www.aroko.world.
Reading her is also a great treat. The well spring of her imagination is unimaginably vast. I am excited for you the get your first glimpse of "Ripeness Refusing Shame" here with us at Creatorship Safe House Publishing.
Thank you for being here alongside us, holding space for our greatest desires to set our gifts free into the collective.
And so it is and something even better, than our wildest imagination!
It is done, is it ever!?
Ameen!
